What Is Eddy Current Sorting?
Eddy current Sorting is a separation technique based on the conductivity of different substances with two important physical phenomena.
An alternating magnetic field that changes over time is always accompanied by an alternating electric field (law of electromagnetic induction). Current-carrying conductors generate a magnetic field (Bio Savart’s Law).
Working Principle
During the working process, a strong magnetic field with high frequency alternation is generated on the surface of the separating magnetic roller.
When a conductive non-ferrous metal passes through a magnetic field, it induces eddy currents in the non-ferrous metal.
The eddy current itself will produce a magnetic field opposite to the direction of the original magnetic field, and non-ferrous metals (such as copper, aluminum, etc.) will leap forward along the direction of their transport due to the repulsive force of the magnetic field, so as to achieve separation from other non-metallic substances and achieve the purpose of separation.
The Main Distinguishing Criterion
The main criterion is the ratio of conductivity and density of the material, and the material with a high ratio is easier to separate than the material with a low ratio.
Conclusion
Traditional solid waste recycling methods have certain limitations, and recycling methods are relatively backward.
The emergence of eddy current separator solves these limitations, improves the production efficiency of the enterprise, reduces the labor cost, and improves the economic benefits of the enterprise.
